It has been another very busy month for us with two 2 day Maths CPD Seminars delivered to very enthusiastic teachers from across England.
Our first Maths CPD Seminar took place early in February where we were delighted to see our Leicester Year 5 and 1 cohorts once again. The session covered some important chapters the teachers will be covering in the very near future. Along with the topics in those chapters, we also covered key pedagogical elements from proven research used by the top-performing nations. Overall, both days in Leicester for the 2-day Maths Seminar was a huge success. We look forward to seeing the groups again in March.
Later in the month, we completed our Secondary Algebra course for the Maths Hub (North and East London Math Hub). We had around 10 delegates for the 2nd-day twilight session which overall received very positive feedback. We look forward to other secondary schools using the visual approaches to algebra, so if you are a secondary school looking for ways to support your children in seeing the maths you teach then get in touch with us.
We had the pleasure of delivering a half day seminar for EYFS staff this month. The seminar took place in Montem Academy in Slough which hosted 5 other schools which were all a part of their federation of schools. The focus of the session was to share many ideas to support EYFS staff in using visual approaches to cover the EYFS curriculum.
We’ve enjoyed delivering this month’s Maths CPD seminars. The last of which was for Maths No Problem, where we delivered their signature Essentials to Singapore Maths course followed by a course on differentiation. Delegates gave great feedback about both days and this one was our fave piece of feedback…
“The facilitator, Mohi, was a very good trainer. His pace and clarity really sells the product well. He is a gem!”
Even though we have delivered a few Maths CPD seminars this month, one of the highlights of our training for this month has also been the work Jakob did with our Leicester Maths Leads when he delivered the Co-operative Learning package we have been offering recently. We had some absolutely glowing reviews from the delegates and here’s a testimonial that we feel fulfils our aims.
“Your passion & enthusiasm was infectious & inspirational. I enjoyed all of the course today & will take every part of it away with me to better my teaching for years to come. I would be honoured if you could come & share your knowledge & passion with our staff as I believe it to be so worthwhile.”
We reported earlier in the month that our work on the BBC commissioned Bitesize videos is now all over and we hope they are all accepted as Somethin’ Else Studios, who were given the commission by the BBC, have worked exceptionally hard on the project!
We are more than happy to take any questions and queries you have about out training. Contact us to find out more about our courses and pricing.
